Iggy Azalea
So last night was the Iggy Azalea concert at the Bowery Ballroom and I can confidently say that was the best concert I have ever been to. I mean seriously just everything.
Opener was some guy named Travis (Travi$?) Scott who was pretty good but every 5 seconds felt the need to yell out NEW YORK LET ME HEAR SOME FUCKING NOISE and LET ME SEE YA HANDS UP like that shit gets annoying. Halfway through he jumps into the crowd and starts dancing and jumping around with us and he literally lands right in between me and Joanna, so we have no choice but to jump around with him or that would just be awkward. [Part of me really hopes he gets famous one day so we can brag about the experience]. Then out of nowhere he calls some guy out from backstage and its FUCKING TI [which Joanna called so kudos to you man, 4 for you] so there’s TI and suddenly he ninjas out of there and ends up on the balcony somehow (?????) at which point everyone ignores Travis and just tries to snap photos of TI. I still can’t believe he actually showed up. So Travis finally leaves and we wait on Iggy, which was roughly a half hour wait. Out come 4 sassy dancers in gold costumes holding fans that say BITCH PLEASE. It was wonderful and then THE QUEEEEEEN CAME OUT. Starts talking to the crowd, and I shit you not I never knew how ghetto this bitch was. All went well and then she played Beat Down and the crowd went nuts I almost got mauled. Apparently earlier that day she tweeted that she’d be playing a lot of her new stuff and it was all GLORIOUS. My World, Murda Bizness (which TI came out for, then did his own thing for a couple of songs and stole the show), Bounce, Gold Dust, Beat Down, a shitton of other songs I barely remember, she had a twerking competition onstage with her dancers, and finally ended with Work. A fucking fantastic concert, holy shit.
For everyone who’s going to see her tonight, ENJOY because she is perfection.
